San Juan Puerto Rico

In August of 2012, we spent a few days in Old San Juan before our first Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Victory. San Juan was an amazing place to visit, chalked full of history and  most of the forts and sights within walking distance. On our next cruise, in a few weeks, we will be spending a day back in Old San Juan. This time, we hope to visit the cemetery and some of the hidden sights that we missed the first time around. If you have the opportunity to visit, I would recommend staying downtown Old San Juan at the Sheraton; especially if you are taking a cruise because it is across the street from the port. Check out some of the local fare; the dining is amazing and the nightlife is poppin. There are a couple of forts ran by the National Park Service, still in tact and full of history. We walked all over the place, especially the old downtown with the convent, the shops, and the little restaurant bars where you can pop in and rest. Here are some pictures from 2012 – I’ll have more from 2015 soon!
